He began racing Flat Track and Speedway in 1941. In 1948 he won the Sturgis 1/2 Mile Championship. In 1951 and 1956 he was the high point dirt track rider in the nation. In 1951 and 1956 (and also in 1954 or 55) he was the District 37 Flat Track Season Champion. He won the Pacific Coast Championship on the 1/2 Mile at Tulare, Ca. in 1951, 52, 53, 54 and 1955. He was fatally injured at Gardena Stadium in 1956. His Hot Shoe was never returned.
