Marty Smith

has been inducted into the

Hot Shoe Hall of Fame
December 9, 2021

Marty Smith was the first American motocross hero. Marty won the inaugural AMA 125cc Motocross championship in 1974, repeating as champion on 1975. After losing his 125cc title to Bob Hannah in 1976, Marty moved up to the big bore, winning the 1977 AMA 500cc National Championship. Marty won three AMA Motocross championships and several World Motocross Grand Prix races. Marty Raced for Team Honda from 1974 to 1979 then Team Suzuki for 1980/81.
