LAS VEGAS, Nev. (Oct. 27, 2023) – Two-wheel racing legends and motorcycle industry icons annually gather for one of the most popular events of the year in Las Vegas – “HOT SHOE” HALL OF FAME MUSEUM & MOTORCYCLE INDUSTRY CELEBRATION.
This year’s celebration is set for Jan. 31 when many of the biggest names in the motorcycle industry assemble and will be saluted in the sixth annual “Hot Shoe Hall of Fame” Museum celebration at the Gene Woods Racing Experience in Las Vegas’ Fremont Street in the free to the public event. All attendees are asked to register at www.hotshoehof.com.
The popular annual event at Las Vegas’ Notoriety Theatre in the Neonopolis portion of the Las Vegas Fremont Street Experience (450 E. Fremont St., 3rd Floor) honors motorcycle legends from around the world. The 2026 Hall of Fame honorees and previous winners will be presented their “Hot Shoe Hall of Fame” plaques.
This year’s celebration also includes a special association with the annual MECUM AUCTIONS motorcycle event at the South Point Casino and Resort. Each “Hot Shoe” attendee will receive free admission to the MECUM event, a $300 value!!
One of the highlights of the popular event is the annual icon interviews and presentations on stage at the Notoriety Theatre as well as unique racing machinery for close-up views.
Among those presentations are the hilarious two-wheel follies and “bench racing” that have previously been described by the legends like Roberts, Lackey, Budda Shobert, Mike Kidd, Mike Bast, Johnny Campbell John DeSoto, Jim Fishback, Sonny Nutter, Keith Mashburn, Mike Faria and others.
Founded by three-time U.S. Open National Speedway champion Gene Woods and a superb Board of Directors, the “Hot Shoe” Hall of Fame Museum was established in 2020 to pay tribute to the spectacular racers and their colorful careers as well as motorcycle industry leaders and icons.
The “Hot Shoe” is the symbol that recognizes the cream of the crop of motorcycle racing stars who used a very specialized tool, the steel shoe, to assist them in navigating the dirt track corners. Steel shoe equipped riders quickly became known as “Hot Shoes” in local and national events and markets where they competed.
“Our annual ‘Hot Shoe Hall of Fame’ and Motorcycle Industry Celebration has become so popular with the two-wheel racing legends, the motorcycle icons and general motorcycle fans that it is ‘must-see’ event now,” said Woods. “We have established this event around the annual MECUM Motorcycle Auction in Las Vegas, and our event has proven to be a great night of ‘bench racing’ for everyone. And everyone in attendance will be attended FREE.
“We know everyone will have a great time with former and current stars from all forms of the motorcycle industry including flat track, speedway, motocross, desert, extreme sports and trials competition. The event has brought together many of the greatest legends of our sport.”
“Each year has been so much fun speaking with all of the motorcycle friends,” said Roberts. “Gene and ‘Hot Shoe’ Hall of Fame put on a great event. You don’t get a chance to go back and talk with the old racers like we have at this event.”
Special discount rates for the fifth annual “Hot Shoe Hall of Fame” celebration at the remodeled historic El Cortez Hotel and Casino and Downtown Grand Hotel are available with “Hot Shoe” promo codes.
The Jan. 31 “Hot Shoe” Hall of Fame event begins at 4 p.m. with the “Legends Karting Race” and doors open at 5:30 p.m. The on-stage presentations are scheduled for 7 p.m.
