HoF Honors Great Motorcycle Icons on Feb. 1

Jan 31 2025

Riders, Tuners, Owners & Sponsors Join Popular Two-Wheel Celebration

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (Jan. 28, 2025) – Motorcycle legends and icons be the stars of the show this Saturday (Feb. 1) in the fifth annual of “Hot Shoe” Hall of Fame Museum and Motorcycle Industry Celebration at the Las Vegas’ Notoriety Theatre in the famed Las Vegas Fremont Street Experience.

Two-wheel performers, officials and enthusiasts from around the world will be honored as part of the historic motorcycle industry with some of the greatest riders in the sport’s history in attendance to talk about their famed experiences competing on the track and behind the scenes. The event is free with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. with the presentations at 7 p.m.

Another added attraction is the very popular “Hot Shoe” Hall of Fame inductees Go-Kart race set for 4 p.m. at the Gene Woods Racing Experience Indoor Electric Race Car Track (450 E. Fremont St., #171, Las Vegas). The “Hot Shoe” Hall of Fame is also located at the Gene Woods Racing Experience.

A wide variety of motorcycle stars will participate in the “meet and greet” portion of the event as well as the on-stage presentations which features interviews with many of the greatest riders, promoters and tuners. The stories and experiences witnessed at each “Hot Shoe” Hall of Fame Celebrations are priceless and there is nothing like the “bench racing” at the Las Vegas event.

Over 50 new inductees will be announced this Saturday including Flat Track and Speedway legends as well as many from the Desert, Road Racing, Trials, Hillclimb and other two-wheel disciplines.

Joining the Hall of Fame this year brings a diversity of motorcycle racing stars including drag racer Dave Schultz; desert legends J.N. Roberts and A.C. Bakken; Supercross and motocross champions Ty Davis, Mickey Dymond and Bruce McDougal; Hillclimb champion Robie Peterson; World Road Racing tuner Erv Kanemoto; off-road motorcycle legends, The Penton Family; and Enduro champion Fred Hoess and motocross star Billy Grossi.

In addition, another popular feature will be back at this Saturday’s “Hot Shoe” Hall of Fame Celebration with the introduction of the popular movie, “Angels of Dirt,” produced and directed by filmmaker Wendy Schneider. The feature film follows the story of Flat Track racer, the late Charlotte Kainz, and her motorcycle racing career as well as other female racers. Other films shown at the “Hot Shoe” event over the years include “On Any Sunday,” Peter Starr’s “Take It To The Limit,” and “On Any Sunday II.”

“We are extremely excited for this Saturday’s ‘Hot Shoe’ Hall of Fame Museum and Motorcycle Industry Celebration,” said Gene Woods, founder and curator of the “Hot Shoe” Hall of Fame. “Each year we have new attendees who experience a great time and meet many former competitors. And annually many of the inductees come back to enjoy a casual, fun atmosphere that happens with this celebration. Having racers from so many different disciplines gives the motorcycle enthusiast a chance to meet competitors they haven’t spoke with many years. It’s just a great night for racing stories.”

In the last four years, Woods, “Hot Shoe” Hall of Fame president Keith Mashburn, the “Hot Shoe” Hall of Fame Board of Directors and his staff produced the “Hot Shoe” Hall of Fame Museum Celebrations which also ties in with the annual Mecum Motorcycle Auction at the South Point Resort and Casino.

The “Hot Shoe” is the symbol that recognizes the cream of the crop of motorcycle racing stars who used a very specialized tool, the steel shoe, to assist them in navigating the dirt track corners.

For those accepted into the Hall of Fame, the honorees’ “Hot Shoe” is mounted on a Hall of Fame plaque. Recipients receive their own version 8x10 plaque. Potential “Hot Shoe” Hall of Fame candidates can apply at www.hotshoehof.com. Register for the Hall of Fame Celebration at www.hotshoeholf.com
