Tom started motorcycle racing in 1965, first desert racing, then motocross, TT and flattrack. Obtained his professional license in 1971, moving through the novice, junior, to the expert ranks earning National number 55. During his career winning several state championships as well as competing nationally, winning numerous main events throughout the country. Retired from professional racing in 1978 to enter the motorcycle business.
