Competed: 1968 - 2011

The hard-charging Fremont, CA, racer had superb talent in all four flat track disciplines: Mile, Half-Mile, Short Track and TT. He won AMA Grand National wins his Rookie year in 1974 at Albany, CA Mile and Ascot Half-Mile. Hocking also won the AMA Houston TT in 1976 and the AMA Santa Fe TT in 1979. All 4 wins were aboard Yamahas. He was the first rider to compete on the famed TZ750cc for Yamaha in 1975 before Kenny Roberts’ famed Indy Mile win.
