Competed: 1964 - 1976

Jimmy Odom, a Northern California flat track star, won AMA Grand Nationals at the Houston Short Track and Corona (Calif.) Half-Mile in 1971 as a factory Yamaha rider. Odom was also a solid road racer. He scored four top-10 results at AMA National Road races, plus he set a land speed record of 336 mph at Bonneville. He finished fifth in the Daytona 200 in 1971 and seventh in 1972. Odom continues in the sport today with track construction.
