Cliff "Bud" Aksland competed in District 36 against Dick Mann, Jerry Griffith, Ray Huff and good friend Terry Sage. In the late 1960s he met and sponsored a young up and coming racer named Kenny Roberts. Bud became one of the top two-stroke tuners in the world developing cylinders and exhaust pipes that led John Kocinski and Wayne Rainey to multiple National and World Championships.
