Ted Lapadakis was a brilliant businessman who was an established district 37 desert rider. As a member of the "Checkers" M/C Ted was a regular overall winner of desert events. Ted was very interested in lightweight European off road machines. He imported DKW's, Puch's and Sachs to the US via his company "Hercules". He did much development work on KTM's and became a western U.S. distributer for KTM. Ted sponsored many well known U.S.riders.
